Larry Baer the SF Giants CEO


Larry Baer is the Giants CEO and among the leading sports professionals and visionary leaders. He attended Harvard Business School. He worked at Westinghouse Broadcasting and CBS Inc, a media industry, and later joined Major League Baseball as SF Giants CEO.

The Giants CEO was born and raised in San Francisco and, at an early age, worked with Giants helping him to receive national recognition as among the best professionals in sports. After assembling new ownership and participating in negotiations to keep Giants at San Francisco, he was appointed as the executive vice president of Giants in 1992.

Being an outstanding leader with vision and dedication, the Giants won their second World Series Championship in his first years as CEO. Achievements continued to be realized as the team remained at the top of the table and won its third prestigious World Series title in five years.

Besides being the CEO, Larry Baer also serves in all Major League Baseball as a control person to manage daily organizational functions. In addition, Larry supervised the establishment of Oracle Park, which fans have regarded as one of the best ballparks to be ever built. This made it be awarded Sports Business Journal’s Sports Facility of the Year title in 2008.

Larry Baer plays an important role in strategic decisions and negations of the club’s important business and transactions. His best decisions enabled San Francisco to host the 2007 All-Star Games. He also participated in negotiations where Giants partnered with Comcast to develop a regional sports network for the Bay people.

The SF Giants CEO has received prestigious awards and honors, including the Francisco Distinguished Leadership Award, Anti-Defamation League’s Torch of Liberty Award, because of his outstanding leadership and skills.
